Article about: i came accross this today amongst some other badges brittish etc, what is it is it fake or the real deal?? i never scratched it on the back it was allready like that. cheers all

ive seen modern US soldiers wearing the cross with the roundals
its a marksmans badge
(dont say that to a british soldier) noL
i believe with the laurols its a sniper
im bound to be wrong here
but its US army im sure of that
its pins are bent
and id does not have the little grip clasp thingies that go on the pins

It is a marksman's badge for the U.S. military. It should have little metal bars that dangle off of it that indicate what kind of weapon(s) the recipient qualified as a marksman with.

Ob i think the award you are on about is diferent from this one
i think this one gooes on a cind of lanyard
no dangly things
the cross with the danglies goes on the breast
atached difrently to the tunic
usualy on a bar like ribons are

It is definitely a marksmanship badge for the US Army. This one is 'Expert' grade
- the highest of the three types, which are pinned to the left pocket flap on
uniforms. The rings have been removed for one or several 'bars' to be
attached, which will show the weapon(s) the soldier is proficient at.
This one is a modern clutchback, marked 'S-21' for 'Harry Sugarman' of San
Antonio. Any US insignia with letters and/or numbers is of Post-war/modern
manufacture. These badges are sometimes mistaken for Iron Crosses !
