I saw this picture in an estate sale ad. Can anyone identify what the medal is? I can only read parts of the description. Bayonet looks good to me, so thinking the medal probably is.

Hard to tell from the image but I believe it to be the US Legion of Merit.
The medal is the Republican Presidential Legion of Merit Medal with lapel pin
The inscription inside the medal case reads: Republican Presidential Legion of Merit "The most Prestigious level of membership in the Republican Party"

Very similar to the Legion of Merit medal awarded to the US Armed Forces but with some subtle differences.. The Great Seal of the United States is in the Center and not the 13 stars of the Colonies and there is no red or green enamel as seen on the LOM..
Thanks guys. I would go and purchase the dress bayonet, but $200 is pretty pricey.
Not a bad looking bayonet.. Looks like a maker stamp on it too..

I would buy that damn bayonet for $300 cause of how nice the condition is. Very nice bayonet and rare medal though, hope you picked both up!

For the record the medal is not rare and not military related..

$200 is a bit steep for that KS98 dress bayonet, seems like a bit of plating loss around the pommel, offer them $150.
