Default WW2 Army of Occupation Medal (Germany)

Today arrived the next piece in my US collection, which has been growing exponentially this year. This time we have a nice condition "Germany" Army of Occupation medal. Examining these has left me with a couple of questions perhaps one of you might know. Firstly, did these sets come with both the Germany and Japan bars? Also, did the veteran attach the bar, or were these pre-attached? I see so few with the bar on perfectly straight, and this one I received is among the better bar attachments I've found, which got me to thinking perhaps the bars were put on by the soldier, which would make them even more interesting.

    And, for our forum archives:

I can't speak to the application of the clasp but there was a "Japan" version. The German clasp covered occupation duty in Germany, Austria and Italy. The Japan clasp was for either Japan or Korea.

I have seen many that didn't have clasps too.

Can't speak for the bars, but it is rumoured that soldiers
would sometimes reverse the planchet to show the
Japan/Mount Fuji side if they were in
    Pacific regions.........
