Default WWII USN Badge Repair Question. Safety Catch Locking Piece Missing

Got a very nice WWII USN shield with anchors badge that is missing the center 'rolling lock' on the safety catch for the pin clasp.

The center piece is just missing. It just needs the piece that's missing added, but I'm not sure of the size needed or where to find the correct replacement.

    Any help would be appreciated.

The center locking piece I'm talking about that is missing...

Nice item. Personally I would not want to put a replacement rolling catch onto it, unless you can find one that is correct to the age you are in a position of putting on a modern version which would not be right. The lost catch is part of its life story, roll with it.

That's what I was thinking too. The pin is just held by friction without that center lock piece.

    This is my badge.

Should it be sterling silver marked? Just asking as USN awards are a mystery to me.

    Not sure.

I believe this one says 1/20 10K + Ster on the reverse of the anchor like the other one you posted. Appears to be made by the same maker as well.
