The top one is used on the sleeve by Sgts/WO's etc.

The top one as Ade mentioned is a sleeve badge known as a chad, whilst the lower motto looks to be an early type (WWI?) as it has the ears, but exactly what date and if an original I could not say with any confidence.

the MOTTO with the ears is still used today they are nikle and can be purchased in the regimental PRI
they polish up very well ,, i would say at a guese both these date from between 1950 and today
