    Often difficult to separate the two eras. Based on the economy of manufacture and the fairly heavy oxidised finish I would suggest WWII.

    Thank you OZ for your comment. I had a closer look at my badge after researching a bit more. You seam to be right it to be WWII. Actually there is a maker mark on my badge. it is so weak but with a strong magnifying glass it seams to read "K.G.Luke - Melb"

    Yeah mate I agree a nice WW2 issue RSB made by KG Luke.

    Thank ya mates, I think this one is nailed down. WWII - K.G LUKE / MELB. I wish to ask a stupid question, how do I know if this one is a collar or hat badge. The web gives me both, but apparently there is a difference.

    Collars are roughly 1 1/2 inches wide and hats 2 1/2.
