Australian Rising Sun hat badge

I purchased this Australian Rising Sun hat badge. I'm not sure if it is WWI or WWII. The web gave me controversy statements.

Often difficult to separate the two eras. Based on the economy of manufacture and the fairly heavy oxidised finish I would suggest WWII.

Thank you OZ for your comment. I had a closer look at my badge after researching a bit more. You seam to be right it to be WWII. Actually there is a maker mark on my badge. it is so weak but with a strong magnifying glass it seams to read "K.G.Luke - Melb"

Thank ya mates, I think this one is nailed down. WWII - K.G LUKE / MELB. I wish to ask a stupid question, how do I know if this one is a collar or hat badge. The web gives me both, but apparently there is a difference.
