British Artillery or Cavalry Pennant?
Recently bought what I presume to be a lance/aerial pennant, rather blue over red than the other way round, judging from the construction of the pennant, dove tailed. I guess it could also Royal Artillery, Royal Engineers or some cavalry/armoured formation, possibly 8th RTR.... any guesses? Thank you in advance for your kind help!

No hints whatsoever? I have event thought it could be a Polish Cavalry Lance pennant, judging from the colours of the collar pennants worn in WWII ...

right colours for both regs

Life Guards and Blues and Royals served during the World War II as Household Cavalry Regiment. 1st HCR fought in Italy as a Corps armoured reconnaissance regiment, but I could NOT find for which Corps: 5th, 10th or XIII? Since on the battle honours of the 1st HCR you can find Arezzo and Advance to Florence, I suppose it should have been 5th or XIII Corps? Still in an Italian source, possbily not too reliable, I've found that 1st HCR was assigned to the 2nd POLISH Corps, but that would not make any sense, since the Poles never left the Adriatic front.... what's your advice?

i realy think that you need to re asses your reserch on the 1st the life guards ,,2nd the blues
for many reasons
first that is not there originalnumbers or titles
2nd they were both heavy and light cavelry in there history
and the polish conection ,is to do with the polish free army ,, who were most defanatly long away from the adriatic
i believe that the life guards at that time were reconacance on stag hounds and daimlers
i may be wrong here BUT
the blues were on matildas
and shermans ??
both regements went through northan germany
as far as my limeted knowlage of there regimantal history gose im sure some one here must be ex houshold cav who knows better than me

the houshold cav were replaced in italy by the 16/5th lancers and the 17/21st lancers who were in the montey cassino
addvance to florrence and the agenta gap
by then the house hold were back in the uk prepairing for d day
i believe some rear elements were still in italy but no fighting squadrons
the 16/5 and 17/21 sorted the second battle of monty casino and went on to break the german line (the name of witch i cannot remember
but it ended the italian campaign
the life guards and the blues and royals ,, after normandy i believe were held as reserve for awhile
i may be wrong ?? and then they were let loose after the righn crosing ???
some one put me right on this please

The Life Guards and the Blues and Royals fought during WWII as Household Cavalry Regiment. 1st HCR was deployed in Italy, I've found, as the armoured reconnaissance regiment of one of the British Corps. Since in the battle honours of 1st HCR we find Arezzo and Advance to Florence, is is very likely that the concerned corps was either 5th or XIII. In an Italian (possibly not too reliable) source on the activity of the Guards in Italy, I have found that 1st HCR was part of Polish II Corps, but this is quite unlikely, since the II Korpus never left the Adriatic front. What's your advise? Thank you in advance!
