Canadian RAF patch?

Article about: I picked up this patch at a militaria show not too long ago. Can't seem to find any information on it. Any ideas? Thanks, John

    It'a a post war Queens Crown RCAF Air Cadet Instructors cap badge.

    We used to call those instructors CIL, however it may have changed, they Hold the Rank of Officers and are commissioned. I believe this was worn on the beret as I remember the metal ones were worn on the Peak Cap.

    The ones from the past few years now have a Light Blue backing. This one was made during the "Tri-Service" period, when all Branches wore the "Greens" The Tri-Service period started in 66 or 67, and ended a few Years back with everyone going back to Proper Uniforms!!

    Bang on Dean and yes I agree a beret badge Ned you never cease to amaze me you are a fountain of info and funny as hell most of the time what a combo

    Thanks for the replies guys! There's no way I would have found that out on my own, since it's such an obscure item.
