Just to update for anyone who is interested. I got a reply over on the British Badge Forum that this is in fact a fundraising badge for the British American Ambulance Corps.
Not so sure about the Ambulance Corps... sounds wildly off to me.
A winged anchor is far more likely to have a Fleet Air Arm connection, surely?
Furthermore, other than the very subtle British link, where is the American reference?
I would be far more confident in claiming it a FAA ‘sweetheart’ brooch.
