    Default FANY/WTS shoulder titles

Hiya, here are a pair of uniform removed FANY/Women's Transport Service shoulder titles from my collection. I only like to collect insignia that has been used. These were worn by former members of the FANY on ATS uniform.

    These are now much reproduced.

    Cheers, Lez.

    Thanks Lez.

These are more uniform, and not as 'shaky' as the pair on the tunic
you showed. Is ATS material easy to find, or is it all quite rare ?

Below is a postcard copy of an ATS poster I found taped
inside a book. I like the design - especially how the
    'T' forms a bow.........

Hiya Steve, ATS material is getting harder to find now and prices have gone crazy in the past few years compared to what they used to be.

I have the full sized poster in my collection The same artist, Abram Games, did some other wartime posters:

Just FYI, that post card was shortly withdrawn as it was felt that the picture of the lady was too...racy maybe at the time and was replaced with a different poster. I would also suspect that the post card was obtained from the IWM gift shop. I have a nice WLA one from there.

Here is two of my khaki ATS/FANY titles. I have five of them, three on khaki and two on the creme buff backing.

I will also share that this title was only worn by those ladies who were in the FANY and went over to service in the regular army in the ATC, and only if they joined before September 1 1941. The FANY who remained in just the FANY were called the "Free FANY's".

Bummer, my what I thought were the creme buff titles arrived today and they are again the khaki ones - so I have five khaki ones. The picture I bought them from was so well lit that they did indeed look like the cream buff ones. Oh well, they're still FANY so I can use them!
