Help with British cap badge
Article about: Hi all After a fruitless lengthy search I have admitted defeat !!! Anyone know which unit this cap badge is from please

I think It is a sash buckle or pouch belt plate for the east kent militia the motto is for the order of the garter, Victorian era. Looks like it has been in the ground.

not too sure, but the crown looks Victorian to me,

Later they became the Buffs (East Kent Regiment) and used a Horse as a collar badge for a while before the "dragon" they used in more recent times.
Cool badge and not something you see often.

Don't think it is East Kent. Could possibly be Royal Lancaster/1st Volunteer Battalion, but no exact match as yet. Any more suggestions ?
