Hello,
The badge is over 100 years old, from Edward VII's era (1901-1910). Appears to be more Victorian in size and style so I would guess its an early Edwardian cap or pith helmet badge. I could be wrong but I believe the crossed sword and baton indicate a Brigadier-General rank.
