Here be Dragons

Article about: Thank you, Jerry! Luke

    Default Here be Dragons

My small collection of Welsh dragon collar badges, ranging in date from the late Victorian period through to the early post WWII period, examples of the different types worn by the Welsh, the Mons and the SWB, though some of the patterns were worn by more than one of these regiments, so it is hard to say whether the Mons patterns (bottom row) are for them, or worn by one of the BN's of the SWB or the Cyclist BN of the Welsh before they switched over to the blackened version. The upper two rows are for the Welsh and the Welch, or's gm top row and OSD middle row.

Those are really nice, Jerry! This is the first time I have ever seen these. Are they hard to come by? Thanks for showing!

Hi Luke, yes they are hard to come by recently as I keep buying all I see. Thankfully you can still get them for a reasonable price when they come up, but getting matching pairs is hard to do.

Thank you, Jerry. I've always liked the Welsh dragon. I think after seeing your's maybe I'd like to get a couple. If you ever see any and pass on them I'd appreciate a heads-up if you wouldn't mind.

They look really good Jerry, they are so distinctively Welsh.
