Article about: by colt45 WWII Airborne Patch 101 st Good Condition | eBay A black oil-cloth backing? Looks like a Pakistani fake. It does have a khaki edge though...

    just got this patch was told it is WWII and was wondering if it is WWII or not

    WWII era patches are embroidered on either khaki or OD cloth -with that base cloth showing on the edges of a cut-edge patch.

    Korean era patches are embroidered on cloth that is the same color as the embroidery at the edge of the patch (in thie case of this 101st patch, black base cloth).

    Post-1968 Vietnam era & modern patches have a merrowed edge border that is the same color as the embroidery at the edge of the patch.

    but there is no fabric on the back of this not even on the edges
