Need help identifying this badge

Hi all, I'm completely new to this forum, I live in Belgium and frequently go metal detecting in the Ardennes and on the beaches near Dunkirk too.

However, I found this badge near the town of Gosselies (near Waterloo) and I just have no idea whatsoever as to its provenance, can any of you help me out?

I hope I'm not being rude by the way, I couldn't find anything like an "introduce yourself" thread, so I just posted away.

The animal in the middle looks a bit like the Dutch Lion of Nassau, though it does not appear to be the same, but the pic is not great, so better pics are needed IMO.

It says "024" on the back, it is the only marking.

I am really puzzled now, I wonder what in god's name it was doing lying in some private woodland near Waterloo..
