Original free french flag

I got this out of Normandy a long time ago, it's original, found in a barn, the condition is a little worm, but go figure..anyone tell me a little more about this?, thanks

I can't tell you much more than that the French flag is made of stripes not rectangles; and when you mount yours, the cross of Lorraine is pointing sideways.

It would make sense to me if the banner was designed to be suspended vertically that the colours would read blue, white and red and that the cross and "v" for victory would also read vertically on the banner. The "blue" segment looks very dark gray or black in the photo?

sitting here looking at this flag, its interesting, I never seen this before, it looks like a old thread, is this rare for being a french resistance flag ?
