Phantom Division Patch

Hello all, I've been offered a phantom division patch pictured below, it doesn't have the airborne crest sadly, and it's not really in my area. Unfortunately I can't get pictures of it in my hand. How would I go about authenticating it and what would its value be? Any help would be great!

Photos of the back of the patch will help us determine whether it is period or a post-war reproduction.

I can't get any pictures of it as it is at a flea market, but how should the back look?

While there are always exceptions to the rule, most U.S. patches from WWII have snowy backs:

They are referred to as a snow back, I am sure Joe can post a pic of a period patch reverse side for you to see what it should look like.

I have never seen an authentic 18th Airborne Div green back patch... but I really have no idea if they existed or not.
