These two are interesting. I picked them up out of Bulgaria last year. Bulgaria has a Southern border on both Greece and Turkey.
They may have been traded by Australian POW's walking out of Greece in 1941 or a period battlefield find from the Greek Campaign?
Not to confident with the Turkey theory as they could only have come from one place unless they were picked up by a Turkish soldier in Palestine and later traded. Their true history is lost in time though but I find them fascinating.
They are basically in uncleaned condition and still have some carbon traces deep in the hollows from when they were possibly blackened with a liquid fuel lighter or similar. This to me indicates they "may" have seen battle somewhere.
    I really like these two.

Whilst not insignia I thought I would post an example of a "Returned from Active Service Badge"

I like these as they are personal little jiggers with great meaning. Every bit as personal as a medal group IMO.
That's it for tonight. I will post some General Service hat badges tomorrow.
    Later fellas
