R.Signals Battledress chevrons
Article about: Quick question about chevrons if i may.... On WW2 (era) BD blouses were royal signals rank chevrons blue? or is it a post war thing?

Hi, Purely an opinion!! To me they look like unmounted RAF chevrons. Chevrons were usually issued on a roll of coloured backing material. This style were issued on either a blue/black field or later on a blue/grey field. They were also, when worn as a rank, usually wider and less deeply pointed. My suggestion would be probably service chevrons worn, inverted, worn above the cuff on the BD jacket by a member of the RAF Regiment during or not long after the war?????????????? Hope this helps.

Many thanks for the reply Michael, i see your point regarding them being too pointy for rank chevrons.
They are definatly R.Signals though as they were cut off (not by me) a moth eaten BD with these:
