It's actually not the 158th, the red denotes the 1279th Engineers
If you want to get specific.
The red coloured backing was associated with 2 units that were part of 158th RCT the Bush Masters.
147th FA Bn and 1279th Engineers.

I should added these are all unauthorized patches. There were additional units added to the 158th (Regimental Combat Team) with different colour backings, never the less they are all regarded as being part of the parent unit 158th RCT The Bush Masters.
