    Default Swagger stick insignia?

I think this is a swagger stick. Does anyone have any idea what the insignias on this stick mean? The name is James B. Stewart (my grandfather) who served in WWII in New Guinea and the Philippines, as far as I know. He was a captain in the army. The script initials (CBL) appear to differ from that name. The rifle insignia says "B 1 Colo". The names says J.B. Stewart No. 1 Denver". The cap insignia reads "Fortitude and Loyalty".
    Thanks for any help.

I would say that it looks like a cane that has been cut down . looks to long to be a swagger stick. Gary

It's about 20" long. The bottom end appears to have had a cap on it at one time but now it's just the exposed wood. The end looks cut but I can't tell if it was cut to size (and a cap placed on it) or simply cut down.

Can't help with the swagger stick. But this is the link to James S Stewart VFW Post #1 in Denver.

    https://vfwpost1.org/

"The Post is named for Captain John S. Stewart (Company A, Colorado) who was killed on March 25th, 1899 in the Philippines during the Spanish-American War."

He (Your GF)must have been a member of that Post. I wonder if there is any relation.
Maybe contact them and they can tell you more about it.
