I do see what you mean the weave pattern on your two printed examples is the exact opposite of the stone cold originals this to me though could be an error on the manufacturing end as the worker could have aligned the material the wrong way.
As to the shadowing I have a couple of late war printed shoulder titles that are known originals that show shadowing as well so there is no doubt in my mind that this did occur as one of my examples was removed from a BD.

As I posted Mark, the weave does sometimes go the other way and maybe I am just being too cautious here as the #1 collector of Welsh Div items that I know said they are good originals. Glad to hear that you also have shadowed examples and others have shown or mentioned the same thing.
