Univeristy College Exeter Senior Training Corps Slip On Titles
I picked this set of titles and what I assume is a cadet rank star this morning:
They came with a Fire Guard certiifcate to a chap from Exeter dated 1943 so I am happy they are WW2 in vintage, but I am struggling to find much if anything about the Senior Training Corps at this university or indeed any other. I am assuming they were like OTC units, but I get the feeling they were aimed at technical students on engineering courses etc. rather than those going into a straight leadership role. Has anyone got any further information about them?
Sadly the OTC and cadet units of the period are largely ignored so trying to find much of anything about them is not easy!
Thanks
Ed

There a re a few collectors and I think at least one book on the subject which can probably be found on the british badge forum.

I believe that the red star is for the cadet Army Proficiency Certificate. The same badge was being awarded to school CCF army cadets in the 70s and 80s.

Thanks for the information. It's certainly an interesting little pair...
