what is this patch

struggling with this guys, my thoughts were some kind of trade/specialist patch, but cant find any single rifle badges.
any help appreciated as its driving me nuts.

Hi its a British Marksmans 1st class badge from the 1930s

A badge for TA use which would have disappeared by the start of WW2. From 1944 they were used by the Army Cadet Force so your example may well date from this period.
