Picked these up yesterday, not much though. They are bigger than the pip I already had.

Good pick up Tom. The pips I have, have lug mounting not blades, so interesting to see these.

I have two Pioneer corps plastic badges in the post, which I thought would have arrived by now, probably come on Monday, I hope!

Hi Tom, I have some of these too. I have always found these rank pip in brown are very prone to fading and often turn pink if they have been exosed to a lot of daylight.

I must admit that I have not yet witnessed that myself. I do, however, come across them is this state.
Maybe I should leave this one out in the sun and see what happens.

Left to right top: General Service, Royal Engineers, RASC, Signals

As said above, the rank pips are starting to fade from brown to pink.

Here are the two pioneers that I am awaiting.

I missed out on a RE example recently, though I hope to pick one up at some time and I have a few other s I have my eye on at the moment.

The Pioneers arrived yesterday. Both are by Stanley of Walsal, but they are two different versions, with the makers mark in the center on one set and at the base on the other, also one has a mould number and the other does not.

Picked up two more today from a "local" antiques center, local being a 50 mile round trip, but worth it I think as one of them is very uncommonly seen I think. Royal Malta Artillery and also got the Hampshire for a good price, but the RMA is I think a seriously rare badge and pretty expensive from what I can find out so far, though 30,358 were made which is a similar amount to that made by the less common maker of the plastic recon badge. The RMA also has the added bonus in having the legend, "this badge may be hand bent in hot water", not that I'm going to try doing that even if it is slightly bow shaped.
