Again, great finds, Jerry. I have never even heard of the RMA before reading your post.

    Hi Tom,

I don't know much about their history, though I knew they existed before finding this today.

Comparing production figures for these against the RA plastic gun badge, of which 29,232 were made, then the RMA plastic, at 30,358 made, is slightly more common than the RA version, which fetch circa £200 on dealers sites, though whilst searching for them, I found two of the RA version for sale and a third dealer that had sold one recently enough for it still to show up, but I could not find any of the Malta version for sale, so I know I got it for a good price, but quite how much of a bargain it was I have yet to establish.

Pleased I am , though when you compare "value" against almost anything German, these are a cheap badge to buy.
    Regards,

    Jerry

I posted this on the British military badge forum and a member posted that he only knows of one other example in existence and this is more valuable than the RA plastic gun version which sells for circa £260.

More nice badges!! Jerry, save some for the rest of us.
Haven't added any new ones lately myself, but the new year beckons.
Stanley & Sons seems to be the most prolific maker of these badges.

There were a number posted for sale on another forum recently, though most were the market price, but the RAF was cheap. The GS came from ebay for a good price and there is a large collection from an attic on there at the moment, all started at 99p, but the more desirable examples are already beyond my budget.

There is a lot of junk on there and many over priced items, but you can pick up some real bargains and quality items IMHO, you just have to know what your after and when to stop bidding.

There is also a full size "RA" cap badge of the design which features the gun. These are rare and command big bucks! These are now copied so beware of these
An apparently original example for sale at this time, already up to £127.
