WW2 RAAF pilot wings

Hey guys, I usually try to help myself when it comes to researching my new items since I hate the feeling of getting others to do work I can do. But this has stumped me

I picked up this patch for £4 at my antiques fair today along side some German ribbon bar. I am confused regarding it’s origin and authenticity

It could possibly be a unissued ww2 British made RAAF patch. A website I found did show very similar examples that were classed as “British pattern” . There seems to be a quite a lot of variations going around.

I think it is authentic. It’s construction in hand and smell certainly give me a “old” feeling. Doesn’t feel like a modern repro construction. But I could be completely wrong! Also to note it is “padded” and not flat
