WW2?? Are these patches WWII era and what were they for?

Sorry if I have the era completely off, but the only website I found these on claim they are WWII. Any idea what they were for?

These are not as popular as Infantry Divisions or AAF
patches, so if you are thinking of picking them up,
don't spend a lot. They should really be about
$3-$5 each, or less IMO.........
