WW2 US Armoured Div patches - Original?

Hi all,
I need a second opinion on this selection of armoured patches - All are listed as original WW2 patches, but I've been caught out with post-war unit patches before and would appreciate your input. Hope all are well and thank you in advance!

first 20th AD and 11th AD are both WWII era.

The second 20th AD is a poor pic but I have a similar one in my collection as WWII.

A good pointer is the white bobbin thread on the numbers are part of the original manufacture , where as if they were added post WWII(1950's onwards) they would use black bobbin thread and would look out of place.

There were thousands of original triangles left over from WWII that had numbers and letters added in the late 60's to fill collector gaps again these can be ID as they tend to be rare units.

Also with the build up of US Forces during the Korean war,WWII triangles were used for the increase in Armour Div. and Armored units with numbers added.

So all good to go.

Great - thanks for getting back Phill! I'm gonna go for the 20th in that case. I'm putting together a small US Armoured display at the moment, but closer examination of my AD patches suggests that they may be Korean war examples as the edging is a darker almost 'mint' green colour. Thank you again for the info and happy picking!

Can you show pics of your "mint Green" examples?

I know what you mean when about post war 1950's AD as I replaced some with either greenback or better quality white back SSI.

Just to let you know there are "mint green " border WWII AD SSI.

Also as long as they are not the "Army Green" Border which were issued c 1955 for the new "Army Green" Uniform.

Yes indeed these are c 1955 to 1966/67 before they changed to merowed edge.

These are officially called "Army Green" border that matched the "Army Green" dress uniform c 1955 onwards.

Possibly the famous 3rd AD c 1955 personality.
