41/51 dated Pails/Buckets

Hello all,

Hope your having a fine weekend. Im wondering if any of you have any idea what these are for? Are they just general purpose buckets/pails. They all appear to be made by F.F&S (the same company who make no4 bayonets) and the bottoms are dated 1951 although one of the lids is dated 1941 and the others unmarked? The are W /i\ D marked. They are pretty large in themselves.

Any suggestions are great? Thanks

I was thinking that, cant seem to find any reference them on the internet though. I can never buy anything that is simple and straightforward.

Hi Edelweiss,by the look of the "lock down" catches on the sides I would guess they are soup pails or something similar.You would not want to spill food etc,but if the Do Dah was in there and got spilt,who would care(no need for the lock down!!) Leon.
