Ammunition Chest?

Article about: Hi, Can someone help me to identify this chest? I don't know from witch army it is or what was inside it. It looks like an ammunition chest, but I'm not sure.

    quick question, would this C238 ammo box have ever been used by the Canadian Military? as I have one here in Alberta Canada...thx

    Yes, this could well have been used by the Canadian Army too.

    Not a huge damand but a value of about £25 here in the UK at shows.
