I just bought a couple of 1942 dated sewing kits from a seller at our WAAAS annual fair here in WA-they had a shoebox full, were selling them for AUD $4.00 each-the deal of the show!-outer cover is an undyed off white.
Good score, I believe the white ones are navy. Show us what you bought? how many approx were there? I would have taken the lot at that price
Thread inside the kits was for army green uniforms not blue/white-one dealer here did end up buying the half box that was left after I told him about it-would expect to see them reappear at several times the price soon!
Those are nice examples. I recently picked up a Canadian Army marked housewife..

Here are some pictures of a 1940 dated Canadian Housewife I found at a local gun show.
It looks to be very complete.

WOW Fantastic Big thank you for showing!! Same maker too
Hi Rene,
I have been using my Housewife kit to patch up an Indian made jumper that I acquired the other week. It had about 4 or 5 medium sized moth holes and several other smaller holes.
It was the first time I had had a go at darning and was quite pleased with the results so thanks again .
That's good darning, I see a great business opportunity there for you Roger!
