Thanks for showing! something I'd like to have in my collection.
I have several original Composite Ration Pack Menu Sheets from 1942 and 1943 , these came from a group of items from a soldier that had served in N. Africa, Sicily, Italy and then on into Germany at wars end. There is also a scrapbook created in a photo album that contains labels from various beers, wines and food tins that he must have consumed during this time. In amongst the pages there are original can labels that are from the Composite Ration Cases........... it would appear that the contents of these rations were labelled in a lot of cases with the usual commercial type labels ..... very similar to the way the US Army 10 in 1 rations were produced. What the album does show is a lot of what he was eating in the Middle East and Sicily / Italy was coming from places like South Africa, Canada and Australia as well British packed items.
