green plastic nasty
some brown enamel and some wight enamel mugs
i at that time took no notice of dates on the nugs
that was 1975
so brown,, wite and green pastic were being issued at the ame time
i do wish id taken more notice of dates
it was not unusual for us young soldiers to be isuede war time stuff
IE 37 patern webing that we had to black and polish to a high astandard
so some times the things we see as ww2 ,,, mabe ,but can have been re issued to soldiers in training

allso the exsamles in the first post ,,are 1 the wrong colour ,2 the wrong shape
sorry JLR,,RAC ,,,means juniour leaders , regement
we were issued with battle dress ,, then the BD blouse was repleced with the 66 pattern DPM jacket
but we cept the battle dress trousers
then they were replaced by the lightwieght trousers
luxury<<<
as far as MUGS go ,,we all did our best to get the 44 pattern alloy mugs
cos we could cook in them
in my day there were thousands of 44 mugs available

It's nice to see them in color instead of B&W. I always thought they were more reddish. Off to the auctions
im looking for a mug for my collection found this one at £75. Is this the going rate for wartime issue? It seems expensive or is just like the wartime toothbrushes you have to pay for them
