I had these for many years and was wondering if these were Tanker goggles . They are ^ C marked with red lenses . I could not find any date marks . Thanks for looking .

Hi Chris,
Not a real tanker goggles but could be used by the armored guys.
It's a copy of the U.S. M3 Goggles "Patton Goggles". The only difference is in black and, the material. M3 is rather in grey and spongy material. However I've seen an exact M3 but later found out that there was a black C-Broad Arrow stamped on the inner side (strap attachment)of the goggles. Found it very interesting.
That's a great example to have.

I thought the red lenses were rather odd , any idea why they would have used red ? I've seen the grey type before but i believe they had dark lenses .

The red lenses are for night vison.
Green is for anti-glare from sun.
Yellow is for anti-glare from snow.
