    Hello fellow contributors

    Nothing too exciting sorry

I am in the process of setting up an Australian display for the Vietnam War era. I realise that Aussies used a lot of US gear in this period, but I am attempting to display all Australian made gear.

This is an Australian made canteen cover, very similar to the US design, with brass pop studs and of course Alice clips. Initially I actually thought it was a US 1956 Pattern Canteen Cover; until I looked underside of the studs and viewed 'CARR FAST AUSTRALIA'!

Hard to say with 98% faded markings but I would assume this cover would be perfect for the era.

    Best regards,
    Chris

Could be up to 1980 or so but the pattern was the same-has had the wire belt loop hanger removed at some stage.

Thankyou, very knowledgable! Then it's perfect for my display

A big thank you to everyone for the help here; I feared a canteen cover would not get any attention

p.s - Cheers Jerry! Appreciate this being moved to a more appropriate sub forum.

Still short of belt and ammo pouches. I'm also after a Aussie SLR bayonet, bit suprised how pricey they are.

I should have a spare pair of SLR pouches here somewhere I will have a look for you when I get a chance.

Try US fleabay there are always a few on there and a lot cheaper than you can get them in Australia.

    Cheers Luke.
