    Based on it's size, I would say definitely pistol. I think I've seen one before... hold please...

    After posting my pic I change my mind it does not look like a 1911 the one I posted is so I don't know.

    Agree with Gizmo. I had one like this many years ago but mine was not vintage. Do you think it was military issue.

    I thought it could be a 1911 or Browning high power cleaning rod... I'm drawing a blank here.

    Thanks all for the help, I think you could be right. here's a normal W&P rod i also found detecting. But now i have been told that they used bigger hoops for the winter when wearing gloves
