Can anyone help with this compass, is it a mkvii?
also the lack of makers mark/date, should i be concerned?
and finally, i cant seem to find a case like it anywhere....

Looks fine. Know some were unmarked. Does look like mkvii to me as well. Nice find.
I agree and I have seen many different cases. I believe that many of the cases were private purchase which would explain the variation in design.by BlackCat1982
