    Hi,

I have a US Bucheimer Black Leather Leather Shoulder Holster, Serial # 7791527.

    Also is this for 45?

It is for a .45 auto. Post WW2.

I'm sure it's from the 60's during the Vietnam conflict. Also there were two straps not just one for over the body. It seemed common to take the other one off, I did it myself and have it rolled up in a box. Your broken snap can be fixed by a shoemaker. I would do that too because these aren't that scarce or valuable. Yes, it's for the .45 auto. They made much bigger ones for the 92 Beretta.

I also have a US Bucheimer Black Leather Shoulder Holster, except my have a number 7791527 on the back, which fit my S&W revolver (there seem to be twice the straps then the one above). Could it be a WW2 holster or just a difference model (for a 38 )?

It's just the OTHER model for the revolvers.

All U.S. black leather holsters are post WWII - even some WWII models
were dyed to conform to regs. I agree with 'Browningautorifle'
that it is from the 60's.............
