Help on a Parachute please

Article about: Picked this up today it's a small parachute marked 1943 and maker info. Can someone tell me what it was for please any info would be good. Eric

    Hi Eric did you ever find out what your parachute was used for, as i have one identical, but has different markings,
    43k221909
    Eagle parachute corps
    Lancaster Penna
    Feb 1944

    and has an anchor with the letters U.S. either side of it
