    I found this object on a WW2 practice area (Americans and British). Made of steel, diameter is two and half inches, the piece is about two inches in length, 'had' 4 fins (2 blown off), letters on fin = N (then broken) and G.T (I think). Please help in identifying, thanks.

    You nailed it. I was looking at rifle grenades because of the size and flat bottom like the mills but couldn't narrow it down. Nicely done.
