identifiying this belt and pouch set, possible firemans??

Article about: Any ideas on the age purpose and origin of this belt and pouch? I think the pouch looks like its for something with a handle, judging from the hole in the bottom. other than that, im stumped

    I think the pouch looks like its for something with a handle, judging from the hole in the bottom. other than that, im stumped!
    the pouch was on the belt when it came to me, but I took it off to check for any markings.

    any help greatly appreciated as always!!

    The one i posted was listed as late 19th early 20th century, yours looks pretty similar!...
