    I know what it is. It's a Stuart's Marine Distance Meter Made by H. Hughes and Son's.

    Okay I've no idea what it is but is sure is nice. It looks super tight on tolerances I'd I'm guessing it has something to do with calculating sighting for torpedos.

    calculating the angle and power to fire.

    they were able to set the gun in the good angle and place enough amoud of gun power so it would reseach his place by the enemie.

    As the measurements used are in 'cables', would it be used to calculate distances ship to ship?
