M1910 Canteen?

Hey everybody,

I found this canteen and cover at an antique store today. Been doing research all afternoon and getting some conflicting results. Can anybody tell me what type of canteen this is? I am curious about the markings on the cap too...not sure if its WWII or WWI? The case it came in is marked 1943 not sure if it was originally paired with the canteen. Also, the custom engraving on the side is interesting.....Thanks in advance

Looks like a U.S. 1918 L.F.& C.... Are their no other visible markings ?? G

There are no other factory markings other than what is on the cap. And thank you!

For comparison, here is an U.S. 1918 L.F. & C. example of WW1 period, the mark could be at the cup bottom.

Not a LF here's one of mine to compare
Not one I have in my lot, really like both
bottles/covers & cup certainly were issued separately mixed with WW1 & 2 combinations

You're right Renè, many combinations were possible and the aluminum models produced during WW2, apart from the marks seems identical to those produced in WW1 period; following an example.

Hey it was just a coincidence that I was fooling around with a L F & C bottle today! I have a carrier I was trying to find the mfg stamp and was mating it up with the bottle etc..

Here is my example from another manufacturer.
It is named in Polish to Zajak Stanislaw of Krakow 1947 so its a very well travelled water bottle! Possibly came to Australia with a post war migrant?
