    Hello Everyone:

I picked up these boots awhile ago and I didn't get around to posting them, but after a discussion with a friend over the use of the boots, I remembered.

I got these from a gentleman who purchased these from a Vet back in the 50's... a little before my time of collecting..

Large size, apparently a 11 C from what I can see. Sizes must have changed a bit because I wear a size 12 D boot, and they fit decently. One of the only things I can actually wear... I took a few steps in them and said, "Well that *****." haha!

*When did these get put fully into service? He was an Infantryman and said he didn't get much time on this pair before he got sent home. *

    Thanks Everyone

    Double buckle combat boots.
They came into use in 42 or 43 I don't know for sure.

These as was the M43 uniform set where tested in Italy by a mountain div (can't remember which) in late 42/43, came into full issue after D'Day

M-1943 Combat Boots, called "Double Buckle" as well, were officially authorised in November 1943. After that they did not reach frontline units promptly, and were seen rather with commanders' / command staff feet (here you can see well known photo of Gen. Patton's command car and leg of one of the officers with M43 Combat Boots - photo taken before accident with slapping the soldier on the Sicily in 1943)

More combat boots of that type reached frontline soldiers in West Europe in autumn 1944. Widespread use (in almost all units in West Europe) started in spring 1945.
Here are my recent purchase - mint condition M-1943 boots manufactured in 1945. Never used, never polished...
