Mystery leather pouch.

Article about: Got this pouch at the local carboot this morning.Its very well made and reenforced at all the stress points with brass fittings and rivets.Im thinking its something to do with the Lewis gun

    Got this pouch at the local carboot this morning.Its very well made and reenforced at all the stress points with brass fittings and rivets.Im thinking its something to do with the Lewis gun magazines?Cavalry?39 patt equipment?
    Maybe its civilian!It is maker marked and they should be clear in my photos.
    It is 3in wide(sides) 8 and a 1/4in across and 9in tall.

    It looks like it could be a protective carrying pouch for a gunnery officers or field engineers tape. The type with a crank handle on one side, hence the slot.

    Nice pouch.... got me intrigued.

    How big is it, and is that AI or AM on the back?

    Belt loops look to small for 1939pat Equip.

    Continental Military Heliograph Mirror case, for attachment to cavalry/mule equipment- circa 1900-1930. ???

    As far as I can tell, this is a Dutch Lewis magazine pouch.
