Well I have been wanting a pair of this type for quite some time. I have the regular ones with the flip up red lense, But was told that those were used more by Army anti aircraft personnel. So I have been after this type because of this pic of General Robert Travis. He was the commander of the Eighth Air Force's 41st Combat Bombardment Wing.
My Uncle's Bomb Group fell under his command and he flew in Mrs Geezil, My Uncle was the tailgunner.

Here is Travis after a mission on the Mrs Geezil

These were going for what I considered expensive( cheapest was a sellers offer for $199, highest was $399)
Well I won these tonight for $42 BAM!!!!!
ebay can be good if you know what you are looking at.

Here are some of the sellers pic's. He told me the elastic is in very good condition and that these don't even look used!!

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

    Well they arrived today.
In the pic of Gen. Travis I believe he is wearing a Type C British flight helmet with these Navy variable density goggles.
