Palestine Police Force item?

Hi,

I believe this to be an item used to help polish metal uniform buttons. Might be Palestine Police Force, British Mandate. Could anyone have an idea about the markings on it?

No idea on the marking but is is a British "Button stick" used to guard the uniform material from "Brasso" metal polish.
