Default Scarce British Long tube respirator

Hi Guys, this is a hard to find version of the standard British respirator. They were issued to troops who due to the nature of their work could not wear the respirator bag in the usual "ready" position on the chest. As a result, the postion of wear was changed to the side of the body.

This particular example, from my wife's Lez's collection, was issued to an ATS girl who worked on the "Ack - Ack" guns. Note her name and serial number inked to the flap of the bag.

    Cheers, Ade.

These can also be found issued to members of the Royal Navy. Here is one from my collection. Note the second additional strap to the bag to secure it around the waist of the wearer.

The bag is complete with all contents.

Adrian how was the construction of the bag changed ?
Were there buckles added to the backside to accommodate the second strap to be worn around the side VS the chest or was the bag reconfigured for this particular application.

Hi Mark, actually the bag does not change. The small D rings are always present, as usually a cord was worn there to secure the bag in the "ready position" on the chest.

    Cheers, Ade.

Thanks for confirming that Adrian I could not see any differance in the bags so they would just add the extra strap to change the configuration dependent on the application needed.
