US 1948 dated Y-strap suspender - any good?

Hi All,

After collecting WW2 and Cold War gear - I might try to get into the Korean War & collect some US gear as well.
I saw this 1948 dated US "Y-strap" here in Hungary - but I want show you guys first...The questions:

1. Can 1948 dated stuff be called "Korean War" era? (1950-1953)

2. Is this strap any good, original? Looks like the right patina to me...

3. Is the strap complete, has no missing parts?

I know I have to learn a lot - since I have never collected US stuff before, but if this strap any good, this could be my first item.
(The price is around 27 EU.)

i just picked up same but dated 50s they look same.

It looks fine. Certainly WWII and early postwar gear can be displayed as Korean War era, since large amounts of WWII-era equipment was used in the 1950s and well beyond. Nice example!

Nothing wrong with it, can't really comment on the price though.

Looks ok to me, price I would say is comparable given it is post ww2. So if this is what you want to collect I'd say grab it.

THX all for the replies, I also saw this US overcoat made in 1946 (strangely, also here in Hungary) - what do guys think about it? Could this also be a "Korean War" item? Looks like in good condition, with a price of 15 EU.
